Beyond the Blue is a sculptural ceramic object suspended between abstraction and recognition. Its vertical forms, shifting from slender to substantial, evoke the architecture of a house and a gate or passageway.

The title refers to a threshold between states of mind: a passage beyond the blue, towards a place of calm and well-being. Organic shades of beige, earthy brown and soft green lend the work a quiet, natural presence.

A tactile and contemplative object, Beyond the Blue invites the viewer to imagine what lies beyond the threshold.

Materials Stoneware with ash glazes on a salt wash, and fired in a wood kiln.
